Guiding students in CBE

Guidance in Challenge-based Education

Challenge-based Education requires for educators to move away from classic classroom instruction to instead take on the of a guide or facilitator during the collaborative and open-ended learning process (Read here about the underlying framework of CBE). The nature of this guidance is dependent on the course design and the extent to which CBE has been embedded in the overall teaching strategy. Therefore, this guidance is required in several forms during the different phases of CBE.
In the following videos, you can listen to educators from the ENLIGHT network talk about their experience of guiding students through the Engage (challenge identification), Investigate (gathering information) and the Act (solution development) phases of CBE.
